STK specializes in Thermoforming (a plastics manufacturing process in which large pre-cut sheets of engineered thermoplastic material are pre-heated in large ovens and then formed against a mold with the aid of differential pressure to provide a shaped part). The thermoforming process is capable of molding a wide variety of space age plastic materials into a myriad of end products large and small.

STK remains at the forefront of new product innovation. The company employs old-school pattern makers augmented with sophisticated CNC machining equipment to CAD/CAM build new bedliner and tonneau cover models. STK has several new products under development. These revolutionary new products will complement the company’s strategy to provide truck accessory solutions through traditional WDs.

PROCOVER
The first product developed by STK for the truck accessory market was an innovative and new type of hard tonneau cover named ProCover. The ProCover system comprises a standard sized cover and model specific rail kits. A rail kit is attached to the truck bed and then the cover is attached to the rail kit. ProCover is the only low inventory solution that has been developed with the traditional WD in mind.

When STK demonstrated a prototype ProCover at the Society of Plastic Engineer’s trade show and conference, the ProCover was selected by the industry to receive the very prestigious “People’s Choice Award”. The ProCover has also been awarded two United States patents and several more US patents are pending. ProCover is the most revolutionary and feature rich tonneau cover system to be introduced to market.

The ProCover underwent serious testing before being introduced to the market. Bayer, the supplier of the premium blend polymers used in the construction of the ProCover, subjected the cover to full scale environmental testing in its laboratory. Bayer has proven that ProCover operates over extended periods of time between the extreme temperature ranges of -20°F and +160°F (while placing significant loads/weight on the cover).

PROTECTA & LINE-A-BED
In late 2002, STK expanded its line-up of truck bed accessories with the acquisition of two of the most well known and respected bedliner brands in the business: Protecta and Line-A-Bed. After each brand was up-dated and modernized, STK re-introduced Protecta GT and Line-A-Bed SR to market in the 3rd quarter of 2003.

PROTECTA^GT
The Protecta GT, already at the top of the quality scale and the bedliner most preferred by professional tradesmen, was re-engineered with an extra thick three layer construction (Tri-Extruded). This patented design makes ProTecta GT the only bedliner with a Grip Tight wear-inhibiting surface on the underside (to reduce the paint rub associated with other single layer bed liners). The Grip Tight skid resistant top surface helps prevent load shifting. The Protecta GT also includes a patented snap-on tailgate protector where applicable and exclusive SnapFast™ installation clips.

LINE-A-BED^SR
STK also upgraded the original Line-A-Bed. The new Line-A-Bed SR is now made of two layers of plastic (Co-Extruded). The top layer comprises a high friction material that provides outstanding skid resistance which won’t rub off like other single layer bedliners. The new Line-A-Bed SR offers the same skid resistance found on premium brand bedliners at a truly affordable price.

OPERATIONS
STK operates two plants. The main plant houses administration offices as well as its bedliner operations. Six oversize thermoforming machines with state of the art ovens and controls provide fast production cycles and uniform quality from production run to production run. For an exact fit, the company utilizes a dedicated temperature controlled aluminum mold for each bedliner model. The second plant houses the manufacturing facility for ProCover. The company also has excellent contacts at the OEMs to make sure that it is quick to market with new truck bed models. STK is capable of handling any size account while keeping up with the demand.
