Uniontown,
PA - Apr. 13, 2005 - STK, L.L.C. presents findings from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) on safety issues in the spray-on bedliner industry.
A draft report on inspections conducted at spray-on truck bed lining businesses by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries, Washington Industrial Safety and Health Administration (WISHA), and a review of their industrial insurance records found that workers are at risk of developing illnesses associated with diisocyanate exposure. According to the report, owners of spray-on businesses and their employees often lack knowledge of the health hazards associated with isocyanate exposures.
Since thermoformed drop-in bedliners do not present any associated health risks to installers, STK contends that thermoformed plastic bedliners not only provide by far the best pickup truck bed protection, but also protect workers and the environment from the serious risks involved in the spray-on bedliner industry.
